Putting the electronic health record at the heart of continuing medical training

DMP | 08 Oct 2012
On 1st of August 2012, following suggestions from several professional organizations, ASIP Santé published a specifications document for the call for proposals entitled "incorporating the electronic health record (DMP) into continuing medical training". This experimental programme of DMP training courses is intended for national training organizations that are registered with the "Organisme Gestionnaire Conventionnel" managing the "Formations Professionnelles Conventionnelles" (OGC FCP), and that wish to include the DMP service in their training offering, and to offer this to a large number of independent doctors.

This programme is part of ASIP Santé's DMP rollout strategy, which aims to provide multiple channels of support for healthcare professionals as they adopt the service. It complements the steps that have been taken in other current programmes: "The DMP in healthcare facilities" and "DMP in the regions", but on a national level. Its aim is to build, starting in late 2012, a solid core of training courses, not just about the DMP but also about coordination of care, which are likely to be available as part of Développement Professionnel Continu (DPC) from 2013.

For ASIP Santé, this programme will also enable the DMP service to be included in the national CPD guidance for 2013.
In order to be eligible, proposals must offer a full range of design and implementation solutions for DMP-focused training modules or courses, as well as post-training evaluation and measurement of the effect on adoption rates for the DMP service. These must take place over a period of six months starting from the date on which the agreement is signed, and training sessions must have begun by the second half of 2012.

Applications should be sent to ASIP Santé by 5 September 2012.

The specifications document that lays out the features of this programme and eligibility criteria can be downloaded at the link below, as can template application forms and budgets.
