Fruitful discussions at the fourth meeting with patients' associations organized by ASIP Santé

Looking back on a key encounter between ASIP Santé and patient groups.ASIP Santé organized a meeting with patients' associations on Wednesday 4th of July. The event involved around thirty associations, and is an opportunity for discussion that has become a regular (bi-annual) fixture for the agency and the user groups most directly affected by e-health and associated services – patients whose state of health requires coordinated multidisciplinary management.
There was a routine update on the rollout of the electronic health record (DMP) in the morning, which was also an opportunity to present new DMP communication methods now available to patients' associations. Associations are often the main source of information for patients about their diseases and the treatment, facilities and services that are available to manage them. As such, they are a key way of informing patients about the existence of the DMP service and about how it works. In addition to the communication tools that were presented here by ASIP Santé's director of communication, presented the e-doc platform for online ordering of documents about the DMP. Using this service, which can be accessed directly from www.dmp.gouv.fr, associations can directly order printed resources free of charge (posters, flyers, leaflets) to inform themselves and their members.
Above all, the meeting was an opportunity to present the planned contract between ASIP Santé and selected associations, which will enable them to create DMP records for their members directly, at their own premises and at ad hoc events.
ASIP Santé also made the most of this opportunity to gather questions and ideas for collaboration from patients, on the subject of e-health. The event contained several opportunities for free discussion, which opened up the debate and acted as preparation for the next meeting. In conclusion, the morning session provided a necessary and hugely useful opportunity for both sides to listen to what the other had to say.
